God is wise. (Proverbs 3:19; Romans 16:26-27; 1 Timothy 1:17)
Wisdom is more than just knowledge, it is the ability to see a goal and then being able to attain that goal by the most perfect execution. I suppose to best sum up wisdom, we could say "know how". GOD's wisdom is beyond anything we can imagine or understand. We've already established that GOD is infinite, omnipotent and omniscient and with such awesome power, it's a good thing that HE is infinitely wise. Wisdom and knowledge go hand-in-hand for to have wisdom, one must also possess knowledge, which GOD has in infinite supply. That's the beauty of GOD's nature as all of HIS characteristics compliment each other.
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable." (Isaiah 40:28).
GOD shares HIS wisdom with worthy devotees, such as when HE granted Joshua the wisdom to lead Israel into the promised land or of course everyone knows about the wisdom HE granted to King Solomon. More than this, in the Holy Scriptures, wisdom is conceived as being pure, loving and good. You cannot be both wise and evil at the same time. Wisdom cannot be confused with cunning. Eve was deceived for wisdom is not knowing good and evil but rather knowing good from evil. If she acted wisely, she would have obeyed her CREATOR.
We can be wise by forever trusting fully in GOD. A. R. Tozer sums it up best when he said, “With the goodness of God to desire our highest welfare, the wisdom of God to plan it, and the power of God to achieve it, what do we lack? Surely we are the most favored of all creatures.”
