1 Thessalonians 4:15

For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.

 

The wages of sin is death but through Jesus Christ, we are saved. Of course everyone dies a physical death, however through faith, our spirits can live on. Jesus refers to the people he resurrected as only being asleep, as with Jarius' daughter and with Lazzarus. Yes, we will die physycally as everyone throughout history has but in fact, we are all just sleeping spiritually, awaiting for the first resurrection. One could be physically dead for a thousand years but when Jesus comes again, they will arise and it will feel to them like they only dozed for a second.

 

For those who have faith, the first resurrection will be theor final resurrection as they will be granted eternal life. Thise who rebel will suffer a second and more severe death. This is why it is so important to convince as many people as possible about the truth of Jesus Christ. If we know one has faith, then we no longer need to mourn their passing as they are only awaiting their time to be awakened into a life of pure joy.
