"Honor your father and your mother, that your 

days may be long upon the land which the LORD 

your God is giving you."

Living in China, I see just how this society instills strong famly values. In the West, everything seems to be geared toward reaching legal age and flying the coup so to speak. Here in Asia, families live together, generation with generation. Children honor and listen to their parenst far more than we do in the West.

Our parents put up with so much from us. We depend on them when we are young and they never desert us when we rebel in adolescence and no matter what age, when we need help, they are the first in line.

My mother is a GOD sent angel who has always stood up for me and been there when ever I needed her. Now that she's in the twilight years of her life, I want to be there for her. Having a child of my own now, I understand the love she felt no matter what I did bad.

The love between a parent and child is unconditional by our understanding. GOD's love for us surpasses even this. Hard to understand but very comforting.
