God is righteous and just. (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 11:7; Psalm 119:137)

The Hebrew translation for righteousness also means just  or justice. GOD is eternally and infinitely righteous, therefor HE judges all individuals with pure justice and fairness. Much like GOD's holiness, which we've already established, HIS righteousness separates HIM from any wickedness or any fault whatsoever. Everything that GOD does is right.

We are judged with ultimate fairness so when we sin and do not repent, GOD exacts a fair judgement on us. Sometimes it may be hard for us to see but GOD plays no favoritisms. HE judges us all equally. One might say, but look at so and so, he is a blatant sinner but he has such good luck or is so successful. GOD's judgement is swift but HE chooses when to exact punishment. Rest assured, sinners will be punished in due course. GOD wouldn't just threaten punishment for sin and not follow through.

Now this is particular;y scary for me as I have been one of the world's great sinners. By all rights, I am in store for a much deserved and serious beat down by GOD. Anything HE chooses to punish me by, even death, would be just, such is the severity of all my sins but here's the catch, GOD, in all HIS infinite wisdom and righteousness and unbelievable mercy has given us (me in particular) a glorious loophole. If the wages of sin is death, there wouldn't be anyone left standing and thats NOT what GOD wants, so HE mercifully sent Jesus to bear the enormous weight of the world's sins.

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

In my heasrt, I confess my sins, seek and believe in Lord Jesus Christ and I will do my best to live the remainder of my life as righteous and holy as I can. Amen.
