There's a big blank space in the Bible when it comes to the formidable years of Jesus Christ. Virtually little to nothing is written about Him from the age of 12 until He begins His ministry at 30 years old. It may seem odd that the biography of the most important person who ever lived, is missing so much information about His life. I believe those years are missing in the Bible by design as the Holy Scriptures is completely dedicated to redemption and only contains the instructions and examples that directly pertain to our reconciliation with GOD.

GOD and Jesus, who are one in the same, in infinite wisdom knew that for Jesus to truly take on the suffering for all of the world's sins, He had to first experience all that humans do in life. Jesus was GOD but in human form so He had to go through the daily toil of working as a carpenter, go through puberty, perhaps even fall out of trees while playing as a youngster or what not. Once, by the age of thirty, He know what it was like to be a man and understood the suffering He was about to endure, then He was ready to receive the Holy Spirit and begin His ministry and ultimately, His painful sacrifice.

There are many stories of Jesus' silent years that tell of Him fashioning birds out of clay that come alive and fly away but these are not scripture based and are purely fictional. The fact probably is that Jesus lived and fairly normal life as a youth, albeit minus sin, for He needed to feel what we feel, be tempted by what we are tempted by and experience the same emotional frailness that we do. Only then could the true sacrifice be made where He willingly accepted the burden of all our sins. Amen!
