Before I chose GOD's path through Jesus, I was one of the world's great sinners. I never took another life but I certainly made many lives miserable. When I decided to change, there was a burning question in my mind at first, which was, have I sinned too much to be forgiven? Through reading the Bible and researching I gladly learned that the answer is, no. Jesus cleansed us of all our sins when He died on the cross and this includes past and future sins. John 1:29 says "the lamb of GOD who takes away the sin of the world."

No one, even the most pious of Christians is without sin. As stated in 1 John 1:18, "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." I do my best to run from sin but sometimes it overtakes me and I fall off the wagon so to speak. If we believe in Christ, then the sin will be forgiven if we confess and are truly remorseful from the heart. Now this doesn't mean that we have carte blanche to sin whenever we want and simply say sorry. As Christians, we must do our utmost best to avoid sinning as it breaks our fellowship with GOD. GOD knows us and HE understands that we are weak and will, at times, succumb but HE expects us to make every effort to walk in HIS light.

GOD has given us a way to reestablish our fellowship with HIM through Jesus Christ. HE made an unimaginable sacrifice out of love for us so the only unforgivable sin is to turn our backs on Jesus. All other sins can be forgiven if we repent. When we are reborn through Christ, GOD shows us the unconditional love of a true father.
