GOD granted us free will so that we may seek fellowship with HIM of our own choosing. Free will enables us to distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil. It allows us to love, feel and act accordingly but on the other side, it also causes us to hate and sin. Throughout history we chose to sin and hate more than love and seek GOD.

Ever since Adan and Eve first sinned against GOD, HE has been providing ways for us to  repair our relationship with HIM. In the first five books of the Old Testament, GOD tells us about HIS laws that if followed, would see us reinstated by HIS side. Except for a very few, we have failed that test.

In the next twelve book of the Old Testament, HE provides a history so that we may understand better just how we've come up short. HE also tells us the stories of the few who have regained HIS favor through their deeds beginning with Joshua's leadership.

The we have the books containing Psalms and wisdom. Written in poetic format, these books cause us to slow down and meditate when we read them so as to fully grasp their meaning. Many of these verses teach us how to give praise to GOD and how to pray for what we need.

The last books of the Old Testament are the bboks of the prophets. These books tells us of the things to come. Some have already happened and some are yet to be.

Throughout the entire Old Testament, there is one resounding message and it points to the coming of Jesus Christ as our savior. This is the Gospel, the good news and the birth of Christianity. Jesus arrived as promised and GOD has provided us with the clear cut way to reconcile with HIM.
