Titus 3:5

"He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit."

 

I was inspired by Pastor Collin S. Smith from his "Unlocking the Bible, Nature" series when he asks the question we all ask, which is, "What does GOD's grace mean for me today?" Pastor Smith helps us understand the answer to this question by introducing us to three different mindsets in referrence to how people receive GOD. The first is with a hostile mind. This is a sinful mind that does not submit or acknowledge GOD. This is the mind that, even after witnessing many divine works from Christm, they still demended His crucifixion.

 

The second mindset is a helpless one. This describes those who recognize and agree with GOD's law but succumb to temptation and are prisoners of desire. They want to be righteous but don't have the ability to change.

 

The third mindset is hopeful. The hopeful person loves GOD's law and does all he can to abide by it. He will slip up here and there but thats OK.

 

Here's what GOD's grace has to do with these three mindsets today, right now. To the hotile mind, GOD says, "HE demonstrated his love for us in this: while we were yet sinners Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). GOD's answers the helpless, "Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!" (Romans 7:24) Christ will rescue you! Finally to the hopeful, GOD says, "Put to death the misdeeds of the body" (Romans 8:13). The Spirit is in you so fight and you will win. When feeling weak or on the verge of defeat just remember the truth and the truth shall set you free.
