The "Olivet Disclosure", although sounding like the title of the latest Robert Ludlum novel, refers to the sermon Jesus gave to His disciples on the Mount of Olives just days prior to His arrest and crucifixion. Jesus prophesied three things.

In the sermon, Jesus foretells of the destruction of the temple, And Jesus said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down." Matthew 24. Now this prophecy came to pass in 70 AD when Titus destroyed the temple.

Jesus also spoke about the time when He would return, the "second coming" as we know it. This would also signal the end of the age.  Jesus warns the disciples about many things that would signal the end as well as His second coming, such as false Messiahs and prophets, wars and rumors of wars, nations rising up against nations, earthquakes, famines, pestilence and fearful events, apostasy, persecution of Christians and the spreading of the Gospel around the world. The disciples ask Him when these events would occur and Jesus answered them that only GOD knows but that it would happen during "this generation".

Now "this generation" may seem confusing but I believe He referred to the generation of the Church, not of a generation of human life. The Gospel has been spreading for nearly 2,000 years and is grown to be the largest religion in the world but many are turning away now (apostasy). We all know of the many natural disasters that seem to be occurring with more frequency as is the case with wars. Christians are being persecuted in muslim countries and new diseases are popping up everywhere. These events can be seen as the prophecies commencing their fulfillment and can be fearful but the truth is, only GOD knows when the end will come and if we believe in Christ, it is not a fearful time but a joyful one as it means we will soon meet our CREATOR.
