2 Corinthians 4:7-8

(7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. (8) We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

When we truly start to believe and trust in the Lord, we are transformed and our journey begins. Our hearts become more aware of the sin that surrounds us and not just in others but in ourselves. As we learn more about GOD, we begin to recognize our pown sinful ways more and more. Accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior opens the door to salvation and it also opens our eyes to the temptations that, as Paul puts it in Corinthians 4:7, hard press us on every side.

By accpeting Jesus and bowing to GOD, we degin to see sin more because we begin to dispise it more. The more we are awars of sin, the more we see just how much of it exists in this world. We are suffocated by it and like it or not, we succumb to it even as devout Christians and thats the hardest part. Our faith causes us to hate sin but also to recognize that we are constantly giving in to it ourselves and this can cause a feeling of despair.

Often the weight of guilt caused by our own sins can feel crushing but this is just part of our journey back to GOD. The more we are aware of GOD, the more we are notice our own shortcomings and strive to become better in HIS sight. Increased feelings of guilt for our own sins means we are beginning to despise sin more and that is exactly what GOD wants from us. We can't escape sin completely but slowly we will erradicate sin more and more from our lives and become more upright in our FATHER's sight.
