2 Timothy 3:1-5
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
Paul's description of the last days sounds very much like the society we live in today. One only needs to open a newspaper to see most of the wicked things that Paul warns us against. People are concerned with how they look and will go to great lengths to alter themselves out of pride, self love, conceit, love of pleasure and recklessness. Most people have a very unhealthy love of money and will do most anything to get more than their share. People don't care about whats good but only care about what's in it for themselves. There is a complete lack of self-control. There is rampant brutality globally with people killing each other is such guesome ways. It is hard, as thay are everywhere but we must do our best to avoid these people at all costs.
