Proverbs 3:5-7

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.  Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from evil.

The Book of Proverbs is believed to be written by King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived. GOD granted him wisdom above all men and his hypothesis is that we should place our faith completely in GOD. His advice to the generations is to not be wise in our own eyes. If the wisest man who ever lived thinks realizes that he should not look at himself or trust his own wisdom, shouldn't we also follow that advice?

Throughout history, we have done some pretty stupid things when left up to our own devices. I, for ons, can say whenever I think to myself that I can handle it all, it usually ends up a calamity. We all know the old saying, "Only a fool represents himself in court." Some think that they know everything and attempt to dictate outcomes when, in fact, they don't know what the big picture is all about. Only GOD knows the master plan and only HE knows the outcome. With this in mind, shouldn't HE be the one we place our trust in? Depart from evil and trust in GOD and HE will do what is best for us. Fear not for GOD will take charge of all situations.
