"How shall I pardon you for this? Your children have forsaken Me and sworn by those that are not gods.
when I had fed them to the full, then they committed adultery and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses. They were like well-fed lusty stallions;
Every one neighed after his neighbor's wife."- Jeremiah 5:7-8.

When reading the Bible, I find myself getting frustrated with the Israelites. GOD continuously delivers them with wondrous miracle after wondrous miracle but they always forsake HIM. Even when Jesus Christ came to them, they denied Him and executed HIM when all He did was heal them and perform more miracles. How can GOD's chosen people be so stubborn and blind and most of all, undependable? Then I think about people these days, myself included, and realize that we are all like the Israelites in the Bible.

Dependability and reliability are the hardest traits to fond in people. Most of us are selfish beings who, when in the face of adversary, will tend to take the easiest way out. We are easily swayed by popular opinion and aside from a few, choose not to make stands for our beliefs.

We are assured that we can always depend on GOD and Jesus but can they depend on us? History pretty shows that they can't. It would be easy for me to sit here and say that I will not be swayed from my belief in Jesus and even in the face of persecution, will proclaim Him out loud but to be honest, I've not faced that persecution. Maybe one day I'll be tested and I pray that if I am, I'll come through.

GOD has always come through for me, so I think I will be able to do the same in my own small way. Till now, I haven't been the most dependable person but I hope to change that from now on and use GOD and Jesus as my examples.
