Luke 24:50-53
50 Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. 51 While he blessed them,he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalemwith great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple blessing God.
As fortold mellennia before, Jesus Christ came to us and taught us the truth through the Word, through works and miracles. He suffered and died for us on the cross and as fortold, He was resurrected and ascended into heaven, having become untouchable by death. The apostles were filled with joy as they carried on His teachings and passed them down to us. Our Jesus Christ lives on and gains strength through our faith and love. In the most trying times, we can take heart and comfort in knowing that Jesus is with us, no matter what.
