We have all heard the phrase, "For the love of Christ." and for us who believe in Him, we depend on the love of Christ. For us to receive His love, we must also love Him back. We must show our love through changing our ways to please Him. Nothing displays true love better than changing one's habbits so as to please another. Take for instance when we fall in love with another. We try to learn what they like and then we do our best to give them the things they desire. We give our wives diamonds and lake them to movies we would otherwise not go to ourselves. I'm a huge sports fan and my wife isn't but she will sit through an excruciatingly boring game for her in order to please me because she loves me. I, in turn, will take her to her favorite restaurant whenever she wants even though I'm not particularly fond of the food. Basically, we make sacrifices and changes to please our loved ones to show our love for them. The same principle applies to our love for Jesus.

The changes we make for Jesus entails us to resist the temptation to sin and to do our best to perform works in His name. Charity, devotion, kindness to others and prayer are just some ways we can show our love for Him.

"Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent." Revelation 2:4

It's no secret how much our Lord loves us. He died a torturous death for us. To show our love for Him, we must do whatever it takes to please Him and in Jesus' case, that is to repent from sin and to do works in His name.
