Galations 6:9-10

(9) And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (10) Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Paul tells the Galation church to continue to do good works, especially to those who are of the faith. In a sense, Paul seems to be urging the church to show favoritism to Christians when it comes to acts of kindness. Perhaps this isn't exactly what Paul meant. He states to to good to "all" and I believe he meant without discrimination. Of course we should be kind to fellow Christians but I feel that it is our acts of kindness to those who don't believe that may be the most useful. If a non believer receives kindness from a Christian, then he may rethink his belief. By showing kindness to non Christians, we just may be able to plant a seed of belief and that seed may grow into faith. OIne can only hope and try.

Jesus tells this lesson although somewhat in reverse with the parable of the good Samaritan in Luke 10. A man is beaten and left for dead by the side of the road and everyone of his own faith, even preists and :ivites, avoided him as they passed by. Finally a gentile Samaritan stopped and kindly helped him. Kind herats are not exclusively limited to Christians so nor should Christian kindness be reserved solely for Christians. GOD clearly wants us to do good to all.
