The final book of the Bible is the book of Revelation and for me, it's the most perplexing chapter of all. Written by the apostle John, the book starts off with letters written by Jesus Himself to seven actual churches with commendations, criticisms and comforts. This part is easy enough to understand but then John goes into a long description of visions he had in regards to events yet to come.

St. John's visions foretell of the final battle between good and evil and talks about the beast or anti-Christ that will lead all nations astray. Many believe that the battle has already begun and I can't say that I doubt them with all the evil that exists in the world today. In fact, I can't remember in my short life, a time that was more wicked than right now with all the evils in the Middle East, rampant slaughter of children in U.S. schools, insatiable greed at every corner, sexual immorality wherever you look and not to mention the increase in natural disasters. At first read, Revelation seems to be a book of doom and gloom.

If studied further, this is not the case. Revelation foretells of GOD's triumph over evil and how HE will reign for eternity after HE vanquishes all that the devil has corrupted us with. It tells of how we will be by HIS side forever in heaven. It describes heaven and it is beautiful beyond words. The final chapter of the Bible, the Gospel, the good news leaves us not in dread but with hope and excitement in my case of what will transpire. If it should happen in my lifetime, I plan on being prepared.

The last words in our Holy Book are written by St. John with Jesus telling him "Surely I am coming soon." The John writes, "Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen."
