Most know of the Book Of Life from Revelations but it is actually mentioned several times throughout the Scriptures (Exodus 32:32; Daniel 12:1; Luke 10:10; Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:5; 13:8; 17:8; 20:12; 20:15). The most graphically descriptive mention is in Revelations though.

Revelation 20:11-15; "Then I saw a great White Throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and THE BOOKS WERE OPENED. Another book was opened WHICH IS THE BOOK OF LIFE. The dead were judged according to their works as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to their works. Then death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. The Lake of Fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written IN THE BOOK OF LIFE, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Sounds pretty foreboding eh? But if you take time to really think about it, GOD has provided a no brainer way for us to get into heaven. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are automatically entered into the Book of Life. The other books mentioned are where our works or deeds are entered and I believe these books are mainly for those who lived prior to Jesus' first coming. Unfair? Not so, as the Bible tells us of the time when Jesus will return and all souls, living and dead, will have the chance to accept Him. We accept Jesus based on the truths we learn from the Scriptures. Imagine how much easier it would be to accept Him face to face? This is just more proof of how GOD is providing every opportunity for ALL mankind to reconcile with HIM.
