John 12:42-43

42 Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.

Life is full of ups and downs. When we experience the upside, life seems so good. Everything seems to be going our way. Money rolls in, our peers love us, everyone wants to be our friend. All eyes seem to be on us and its just a glorious feeling to be so popular.

Then comes the downside. Money is lost, friends desert us, everyone seems to turn theor backs and we are left alone, hurt and wondering what happned. Bitterness creeps in a we are left spiritually depleated.

Such is the rollercoaster of life when we seek the glory of man. The highs are nice but in most cases are far more fleeting than the lows. However, when we seek the glory of GOD, no matter what highs and loes life presents, GOD will never turn HIS back on us. HIS glory is steadfast and eternal and something we can always count on. With GOD, we are never alone.
