John 11:35
"Jesus wept."
This is the shortest verse in the Bible but for all its simplicity, it displays infinitley crystal clear insight into just who Jesus and GOD are. When Lazarus' sisters, Martha and Mary met Jesus in Bethany and He spoke with and saw all the mourners, He wept.
Jesus went to Bethany spacifically to raise Lazarus from the dead. He fully knew that all the sorrow He was witnessing would soon transform into great astonishment and joy. But Jesus, with His unfathomable passion and love, felt their grief and it pained Him so, that He wept.
Dispite all our sin and rebellion against GOD, our creator, HE still holds us so dear to HIM and HE feels every pain that we go through. The simplicity of the verse, when examined in its context, holds so much meaning pointing to how much GOD loves us.
"Jesus wept." and by this simple verse, we know that our GOD is true to us. HE feels our apin and most of all, HE wants it to end and for us to live in painless joy for all time. This is GOD's calling for us and what better reason do we have to rejoice in HIS name?
