God is triune or trinity. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

The Holy Trinity is A-logical or outside of our realm of understanding. John Wesley said, “Bring me a worm that can comprehend a man, and then I will show you a man that can comprehend the triune God.” This is the truth about all the knowledge we find in the Bible, which in It's simplicity, even a child can understand salvation, yet the greatest philosophers of the ages haven't been able to scratch the surface of the true meaning of what happened on the cross. Thus it is with the Holy Trinity.

First of all, the Triune is never mentioned verbatim in the Bible, so how do we know to accept it as a Christian doctrine? We all know GOD as the FATHER and Jesus as HIS Son or as referred to in Genesis, the Word. We also know of the Holy Spirit as it is mentioned throughout the Bible. So how do we associate the three as one?

Now I'm no genius or learned theologian but here's my understanding. Firstly I want to propose that we are not talking about three separate entities. The FATHER, Son and Holy Spirit are one. They are the essence of GOD. The three aspects are the characteristics of one GOD. The FATHER, which is HIS creative side, the Son or the Word which is HIS truth or teachings and the Holy Spirit, which is HIS power or enablement. Combined they make up the Omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent GOD. I believe it is too confusing to refer to the Trinity as the GODHEAD. For me, that implies three three independent entities. I prefer to look at it as one GOD that offers us redemption by HIS power of creation, truth and enablement.  We cannot fully understand GOD till we meet HIM face to face so for now, this works for me.

The Apostle Paul wrote: “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known” (1 Cor. 13:12).
