Matthew 26:27-28

"Then He (Jesus) took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, 'Drink from it, all of you.  For this is My blood of the NEW COVENANT, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.' "

We know that Jesus came to us to shed His blood in order to establish a new covenant. By doing so, He changed many of the requirements that GOD gave Moses in the old coventant such as sacrificing animals and clean and unclean food. Even though it relieves us of many of the old ways of reconciliation, the new covenant does not do away with GOD's law HE established with Moses.

"DO NOT THINK that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets.  I DID NOT come to destroy but to fulfil" Mark 5:17. The Ten Commandments still stand but it is no longer required to shed the blood of bulls and sheep to appease GOD and its always to have some bacon with our breakfast. GOD looked down at us and had pity that we were so struggling and the act of shedding animal blood just wasn't enough for HIM so HE sent us HIS Son to shed blood once and for all.

The New Covenant established by Jesus is not an agreement, its more like a will. It's a nonnegotiable windfall inheritance granted to us by our CREATOR and it activates with faith.
