Matthew 5:6

(6) Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Although righteousness means doing the right thing in GOD's eyes, I also believe it goes further than that. A truly righteous person not only does good but he also has a yearning to know GOD better. The fact is, no one can be truly righteous in GOD's eyes for we are all like "filthy rags" (Isaiah 64:6). The only way we can tru;y become righteous is through the grace that GOD has provided us through the perfect righteousness of Christ. Righteousness cannot be judged by those around us but only by GOD and HIS standards, without the grace through Jesus, is infinitely too high for us. David says is Psalm 14:1, "There is none who does good, no, not one." and Paul changes that in Romans 3:10, "There none righteous, no, not one."

Only through GOD's grace cn we become righteous in HIS eyes and when we realize this and long to seek HIM, our road to true righteousness begins. On that road, which os paved with faith we find hope and peace.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God, (Romans 5:1-2).
