Up until Jesus' coming, the Bible seems to be exclusively directed towards the Jews as GOD's chosen people. Having said that, GOD does show HIS willingness to favor all people who display faith in HIM such as the in the book of Ruth.

After Jesus was resurrected, His last message to the then eleven disciples was clear. To spread the word to all nations of the good news (gospel). This was not a request but a command and is known as the Great Commission.

Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

GOD's plan on how to save us from our sins was complete. Jesus had sacrificed His own blood so that we won't have to. The rest was left up to us to believe and follow the commandments set forth in the new covenant established by Christ. For the disciples, the road would prove to be a difficult one as they were all persecuted by non believers but they persevered and the gospel was spread and today, Christianity is the most widely practiced religion in the world.

The Great Commission is the very foundation of evangelism till this day but the last line in Jesus' Great Commission is the most important for me, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of age."
