1 Peter 3:4

Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

We've all heard the saying, "Never judge a book by it's cover." How often we take people for face value only to learn that they not what they seemed to be. This works both ways, bad and good. Some may seem kind and gentle but inside they are actually callous and mean. Others may seem hardened on the outside but inside they are gentle as pussycats. It's difficult for us to see whats in people's hearts. GOD knows what's on our insides. He knows what's in our hearts. It is important to have a kind and gentle heart, not one full of conceit, rage or indifference. Outward appearances in GOD's world has little to do with how HE wants us to be. Even Jesus was humble with no special physical traits. He was perfect on the inside, in His heart.

1 Samuel 16:7 tells us that "man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." How we treat others on the outside is imprtant but that external kindness must be a reflection of what we truly feel in our hearts. For instence, when we give charity we must truly do it because we want to help another and not because we want to look good to others. GOD wants us to be gentle on the outside but HE really wants us to be gentle in our hearts for if we are, HE can use us to bless others,
