2 Corinthians 10:12
(12) We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.
It is human nature to compare ourselves with each other but is it wise on a spiritual level? In actual fact, comparing ourselves to each other breeds so many negative emotions such as envy, jealousy, pride, shame and many more. When we compatre ourselves to ourselves, we then tend to pass judgement and that is not a good thing.
Having said this, I believe it is good to follow examples set by righteous peers and to admire acts of the good hearted. In essence, we can evaluate positively but do not judge as that causes one to exalt himself.
To compare ourselves to one another can be a fruitless effort for we are all, every one of us, imperfect by GOD's standards. If we see fault in another and condemn them for it, isn't it like the pot calling the kettle black?
We can only be judged correctly by GOD for only HE knows what's in our hearts.
