Revelation 3:14

"To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation."

The meaning of the word "amen" to express strong approval of or support for (an assertion, hope, etc.) and is generally used at the end of prayers. In Revelation 3:14, Jesus uses the word to descibe Himself. He follows this with "the faithful and true witness". Jesus was technically a man but lived the perfect spiritual life as only GOD could if HE were human. Jesus calls Himself the Amen because He is affirming GOD's existance and showing us that there is no doubt that what He did by sacrificing Himself on the cross, provides a means for our salvation.

It is important to undertand the reason why we say Amen at the end of our prayers. By doing so, we confirm our total belief in GOD and the Savior. Amen should not be said lightly or in passing but should be focused on. When we end our prayers, we should commit some thought to the meaning of Amen when we say it. Amen should come from the heart as it ;et's GOD and Jesus know that we support, approve of, believe and have total faith in them and the salvation they provide through the cross. Amen!
