We often hear the term Christlike character, in fact, its what we Christians strive for. So, what does becoming more Christlike mean? When Jesus walked amongst us as a man, He changed the world but that doesn't mean for us to become more Christlike, we have to do likewise. In John 17 Jesus says, "I'm not praying for the world but for those YOU have given me." Jesus doesn't expect anyone to singlehandedly change the world. What He does expect is for each of us to change ourselves and in doing so, we can collectively change the world.

Jesus was sinless, which is something that is entirely impossible, even for the most righteous among us , to achieve. The best we can do is just that, do our best to walk in the ways of Jesus when He was on earth. We will stray no doubt but if we recognize our slip ups and ask for forgiveness, we will be delivered. What we must do is constant;y strive to do better and resist our desire to sin and gradually we will change and become more Christlike in our character. We will never be close to Him in His perfection but we can become closer and thats all we can hope for.

GOD changes us inside through Scripture and the Holy Spirit but HE also molds us from the outside like a potter shapes clay. The thorns and thistles that are our curse due to Adam's sin, have become the everyday tests that GOD wants us to endure to ensure our character. In the work place, our computers may freeze up or our boss may be riding us a bit too hard. By enduring these "thorn" without anger or hate, we change ourselves to become more Christlike and by doing so, we do indeed change the world.
