1 Corinthians 2:6-8

6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. 7 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Paul writes to the Corinthian Church about wisdom and he makes it clear that what we think of as conventional wisdom is only temporary. The wisdom of this age, those who invent smart phones and Mars rovers, will all perish or become obsolete. In fact all things that have to do with the physical world are only fleeting. Of course there are smart people who have a better handle on technology or mechanics or what not but all too often with this earthly intelligence comes arrogance and elevated self worth. Instead of giving thanks to GOD for granting these gifts, they become too self important and rationalize away the very existence of our CREATOR.

Paul talks about the secret wisdom of GOD that was decreed even before we rose to the top of the food chain on earth. This spiritual wisdom existed long before man was created and it has to do with faith and belief. The wisest thing we could do is through faith and humility, accept that GOD is sovereign over all and any gifts we are granted, come from HIM. Unfortunately, the "wisdom of this age" obscures this spiritual wisdom and it gets lost. I believe that thats what Paul is referring to when he says, "secret and hidden" wisdom of GOD. It's there for our taking if we just learn to open our eyes.
