2 Timothy 2:23-26

23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

Its not hard to bet into a quarrel with those who would persecute and ridicule us for our faith. Ften times nonbelievers will come at us with anger in their tone and armed with science to do their best to provoke quarrelsome debate. What Paul is telling us is to not get caught up in any heated arguments but to be kind.

I've pften heard some proclaiming to be Christians, condemning those who confront them to burn in hell. First of all, we have no right to condemn anyone. Only GOD has that power. Secondly, as good Christians, we should not wish such a fate on any soul. Instead we should feel sorrow and pray that they may see the truth one day. Our wish should be that they "may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil." GOD has granted us the gift of the Holy Spirit and in receiving it, we should only wish that others will too one day receive it as well and begin to walk in the truth.
