Corinthians 11:28-29

(28) A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. (29) For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.

There is so much to be thankful to GOD for but it is especially important to give thanks for our sustenance each day. Not just because HE has provoded nourishment for our physical selves. Each meal is symbolic of the love and sacrifice Jesus made for us.

(24) and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." (25) In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.

Some may believe that Jesus is referring only to special Christian occasion meals but I am cinvinced He is asking us to remember Him whenevr we break bread. For me, Jesus is saying that whenever we sit down for nourishment, to spare a thought for Him, GOD and their love and sacrifice they made so that we may live. A small request for such a divine and supreme act of love through sacrifice.
