Ecclesiastes 9:7-10

Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do. Let your garments be always white. Let not oil be lacking on your head.  Enjoy life with the wife whom you love, all the days of your vain life that he has given you under the sun, because that is your portion in life and in your toil at which you toil under the sun. [10] Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going. 

 

GOD wants us to repent from our sins and to practice humility. HE wants us to endure persecution in the name of Jesus and, as Paul put it, to fight the good fight to the end. But this doesn't mean HE wants us to beat ourselves up for the rest of our lives or to be guilty and remorseful for our sins. On the contrary, GOD wants us to make the most of our lives and to enjoy it to the fullest as Solomon tells us in Ecclesiastes 9.

 

The problem is, some people have distorted the act of enjoyment into wrongful practices such as getting wasted and immoral behavior. GOD has provided so many things for our enjoyment. Good food, beautiful and relaxing natural wonders. Beaches, mountains, lakes, sunsets, sunny days are just a few of the blessings we have to enjoy life. GOD gives us our children which are the greatest joy in my opinion. As Christians, we can live our lives with utter enjoyment and be free of the guilt and sorrow of our sins as we kbow we are forgiven through GOD's grace in Christ.
