2 Thessalonians 3:6

Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.

All one needs to do is to ponder the universe around us, from the smallest particle to the largest galaxy and its not hard to establish that our LORD is a very hard worker. GOD creates and to vreate is to work. We also know that GOD created us in HIS image, so we too should be hard workers. As early as Genesis 2:15, the Bible tells us that, "The Lord God took the man and placed him in the orchard in Eden to care for it and to maintain it." Even in paradise, we were meant to do what GOD does, tending, caring, nurturing, eseentially working. We also can feel this when we feel satisfied after a good day's work.

Laziness, on the other hand, goes against what GOD intended us to be like. When we are lazy, we basically paint a large target on our forheads for satan to fire his darts of doubt at. Loathing, discontentment, envy are all results of idleness and the lazy person misses out on the GOD-given satisfaction of accomplishment. When we work hard, we are living up to the inage GOD created us in.
