Luke 10:26-28
(26) He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?" (27) So he answered and said, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.'" (28) And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live."
More than once, Jesus defines the love of GOD as the ultimate commandment followed by love for one another. The essence of the greatest acts of obedience and righteousness is love. Love trumps all else including wisdom, strength, devoution, etc. True love encompasses all other virtues. If we love with all that we are capable of, then we will find strength, wisdom, devoution and all else within that love.
Loving GOD means to put HIM at the forefront of all our thoughts and actions. We must constantly think about GOD throughout our waking moments and to seek HIS guidance in all matters. We must recognize all thats around us as HIS doing and see HIS goodness in all things. Its a tall order, I know but with practice comes habit and once acknowledging GOD in all things becomes a habit, then our love and dependance on HIM increases. After that, we start to adopt HIS nature and naturally we begin to love one another more. There is no greater expression of love than sacrifice so we can be certain that GOD loves us right back times infinity. Jesus' life on earth is irrefutable proof of HIS love.
