The changing of the heart, in my opinion, is a wondrous miracle as people, for the most part, just don't change. These days, a change of heart is more difficult than when Saul had his epiphany on the road to Damascus. Jesus appeared to Saul in a bright light and spoke to him from heaven, causing him to suddenly champion what he was previously committed to condemning. Saul suddenly became Paul the apostle who spread the Word throughout the known world at the time. His change of heart was a miracle but not as miraculous as those who have a change of heart these days. In my experience, no light from heaven shines down and Jesus doesn't speak to us in an audible voice. Our change of hearts happen from within, which for me, is much more of a difficult feat than if direct signs from heaven happen.

One day, I decided that I no longer wanted to live in the dark. This may sound inane but I literally lived in the dark preferring night time over day, dimly lit rooms over brightness and constantly wearing sunglasses. Then, all of a sudden, I started craving light. I began to wake up at the crack of dawn and go to sleep by 10 PM. This all happened when I decided to give my life over to Christ.

Jesus tells us in the Bible that He is the light of the world and when He departed this earth and ascended to heaven, we believers became the light of the world. I am certain that the light He talks about is love and as a candle spreads light to dark places, we must spread our love to the world. I think many would agree that the world is a pretty dark place at the moment with all the evil that exists today. It needs our light, which can be spread through works that are acts of love. If someone persecutes you, show them love in return and I guarantee that they will not be able to resist liking you as a result.

The true miracle is a change of heart and the sorely needed light that it brings to this dark world. It is a greater miracle than pillars of flame and I'm so grateful to be living that miracle right now.
