Ephesians 2:1-3

"And you he made alive, when you were dead through the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience. Among these we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, following the desires of body and mind, and so we were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind."

Many have argued the actual meaning of the prince of the power of air that Paul mentions in this Epistle. For me its clear, satan. The devil si the antithesis of GOD. Where GOD is light and love, satan is darkness and hate and all the negativity that hate spawns, such as jealousy, anger, violence, deceit, etc.

Just as we can't think of GOD as an emodied wise old man, living in the clouds, we can't think of satan as a red horned devil living underground. Satan, like GOD, is spirit...evil spirit. Satan's spirit is what causes us to desire all things of this fallen world. Riches, power over men and all things that when looked at from GID's point of view, are fleeting and temporary. Satan enters us and causes us to value the now over eternity. Instant gratification over eternal life.

The prince of the power of air is everywhere, infiltatrating all levels of society and especially in those who rule over us on earth. It's not hard to see the evil in many of today's governments. Satan is the great liar and he's hard to resist so as Christians, we must stay strong, alert and focused on GOD and the end game to survive.
