Philippians 4:12-13

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

 

I would have to say that from what I know, more than half of the people of this world are not content with what they have and desire more. We strive to get ahead. Nations go to war over the desire to possess more and so many even resort to stealing, lying and cheating to gain wealth. We have  become blinded to what is really important in life. We see others in nice cars, living in big homes, gettimng seated ahead of us in restaurants, getting all the anttention and generally appearing to be having a better time in life than we are but are these things so important.

 

Our health, the clothes on our backs, food on our tables and roof over our heads (no matter how simple) are all we truly need and when GOD provides these basics for us, we should be content and thankful.
